Welcome to the official site for Dee Grissett. Here is where you will find information about Dee and her self-published book, "In Sickness and In Health: A Journalized Account of Coping with Multiple Myeloma".
Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell normally responsible for the production of antibodies. In Multiple Myeloma, collections of abnormal plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow, where they interfere with the production of normal blood cells. Myeloma develops in 6 out of 100,000 people per year and Dee is one of those individuals. Myeloma is the second most common hematological malignancy in the United States (after non-Hodgkin lymphoma) and constitutes 1% of all cancers.
Dee shares her story with the world as she continues daily to fight this battle. She provides awareness about Multiple Myeloma at all of her book appearances. You can listen to her radio interviews, view pictures from her book appearances, read various book reviews and sign her guestbook.
